Purpose
Many reports have documented the need for high-quality data on race and ethnicity in order to gain greater understanding to address health disparities among U. S. racial and ethnic populations. In addition, data on social economic position and language are important mediators of racial and ethnic disparities and provide further insight into health and health care disparities experienced by these populations. This web-based minority health data resource has been created to assist a wide variety of users (e.g., researchers, students, policy makers and community groups) in identifying research and data collections, analytic reports and publications that may be useful in health disparities research and policy efforts. This site will be continuously updated to add relevant minority health data resources as they are identified.

Coverage
This test version of the site catalogs web resources maintained by HHS agencies, other federal, state and local government agencies and their contractor or grantees. We have included major websites, reports, and tables that have data on racial and ethnic minorities. Current coverage includes many of the major resources maintained by these agencies but not all of them. We plan to extend coverage to include links to nongovernmental sources of statistical data on minorities as the project proceeds. The material is updated frequently, sometimes on a daily basis to try to include the most pertinent and current information. We invite users to let us know of any important resources that we have missed so that we can consider it for inclusion. You can submit suggestions by using the suggest a URL link at the left side of this page. |
